ESG - Keep On Moving

ESG Keep on Moving on New Album
Nothing I say or write can express how fucking exciting it is that there's a new ESG album coming out. This is a band that was on both 99 and Factory Records back in the day, that was produced by Martin Hannett, that performed at the opening night of the Hacidenda and the closing night of the Paradise Garage, that played with the Clash, A Certain Ratio, Public Image, and Gang of Four, that's been sampled by Public Enemy, Big Daddy Kane, LL Cool J, and Marley Marl, that inspired generations of post-punkers. And now they're back to inspire some more.

The South Bronx sisters and their stripped-down, straight-up dance funk are back with Keep on Moving, set for release on July 3 on Soul Jazz Records. The family act now consists of original Scroggins sisters Renee, Valerie, and Marie, as well as Renee's daughter, Nicole, and Valerie's daughter, Chistelle. Doesn't your family seem lame now? Yeah, same here.
